We’ve been proud of our privileged position as the vets of Caithness and Sutherland ever since Donald S McGregor opened his practice here in 1965.
We are grounded in the local environment and rooted in our history, working for the people of our community to provide the very best care we can to pets, horses and farms.
Animal welfare is always at the core of our business and we’re here for our clients 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
We’ve always been an independent business – and we ensured we will stay this way by becoming employee-owned in 2023.
That means that our practice is run by local people who understand our heritage and who are committed to serving our community.
It also means we can focus on what we believe is most important: enabling our clients to make decisions about what is right for their circumstances, and supporting them to maintain the highest levels of health, welfare and, in agriculture, productivity in their animals.
Modern veterinary care, inspired by our heritage
While our employee-owned status has secured our future, we’re always keen to learn from our heritage.
We believe it’s important to remember where we’ve come from and to retain the relationships we’ve built with our community over the decades.
The knowledge we’ve accumulated ensures that we can be proactive in caring for the animals in our care.
From our branches in Wick and Thurso we provide compassionate care for local pets, with the facilities to provide a comprehensive range of services. In 2024 we introduced our Highland Health Plan, our innovative take on health plans that will allow us to provide the very best care for your pet.
We’ve built relationships with local farmers across generations and work hand in hand to provide the support you need to ensure your farmers are healthy and productive.
And we provide a fully ambulatory service for horse owners and stables throughout the Highlands, working hard to ensure we’re always there when you need us.
